(n phrase) A rule that states that a raise must be atleast half as big as the previous raise in order to qualify as a legal raise, a raise that will re-open betting. A raise can only be less then the amount of the previous raise if a player goes all-in. A raise that doens't qualify can only be called and not re-raised. See also full bet rule
